As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote My daughter is in the Math/Science concentration at SASA and she loves the school! The parent communication is excellent. I receive emails from the principal, the parent committee, and her skyward grade updates weekly. The academics at SASA can't be beat, and I'm so glad my daughter has the opportunity to attend this school. Close Quote

Open Quote The Saginaw Arts and Sciences academy is ranked FIFTH in the STATE of MI for student achievement as measured by state processes tied to the MEAP (grades 6-9) and MME/ACT (grades 11-12). It is small in size, but BIG on results!! I sent both of my kids here from grades 6-12 and never looked back -- a private school quality education at a public school cost -- because it's tuition-FREE!

Teachers are mostly Master's Degree level educated, and are exceptionally strong, creative, driven and committed -- and amazingly so are the vast majority of students! These kids come from families that care about education. This is an application-based public school that serves families from more than 3 local counties and nearly every community located in them. The student population is a terrific mix of cultures, religions, economic levels and races, and the kids respect each others' differences.

You can arrange to have your child visit for a day to shadow a student to see if you/he/she likes it -- they also schedule personal tours. You won't be disappointed if you make this school your child's home for preparing for an educational future. Close Quote

Open Quote My grandson is a sixth grader at SASA. In the 5 short months he has attended SASA, his attitude towards his school work and his future has improved immensely. His goals as an elementary student have matured into future ambitions, that he is willing to work hard at and achieve, thanks to the dedicated and intelligent staff members at SASA. Saginaw children are very fortunate to have the opportunity to attend a great school like SASA. Close Quote

Open Quote This is one amazing school. The students are mature, responsible, and nurtured to become incredibly successful individuals and most go on to top colleges and universities in the country. The rigorous programming and the high expectations have turned out citizens who will become the future leaders of our community, state and nation. I wouldn't want to send my students ANYWHERE else! About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
