The school itself is a good school for the educational content to an extent for a Lansing school, not elite like people portray it but the social environment is interesting to say the least. The environment is touch and go. You either have great teachers or teachers that wont even acknowledge you or look you in the eye unless it is conference time. Teachers that can teach and those that can yell. You have really great parents or parents that feel like they are elite or better. Ahem (some of the pta). The egos here are somewhat detrimental. Teachers play favorites and if your kid is not one of them try and see how fast they try to gaslight you if you make a complaint. It does not feel like a community or inclusive at all. I sit back and observe and my observations have lead me to look for more options fir my kid. I've visited more elite schools who dont act or portray themselves as better but academically they supercede this school. It's not a who's who and how can I socially climb, it's soley about the true purpose, education. Make Post Oak kind again. Make all the teachers kind not just some. It's hard dropping your kindergartener off while seeing an elderly 3rd grade teacher yelling at the top of her lungs at them.. Yelling is a teaching technique for normal kindergarteners being kids? But I digress, this place is a mixed bag with the potential to be great. Take the bad teachers out, don't allow the PTA to run the school, and be equal to all children. Close Quote

The Chinese Language Immersion is an amazing dual-Language learning opportunity. Teachers are very engaged and classrooms are well controlled. Principal Ojerio is a fantastic administrator and very engaged with parents, teachers & students. Close Quote

Innovative Chinese Immersion school. Students are taught 1/2 day by chinese teacher and 1/2 day by english speaking teacher. Excellent learning environment and community school. In order to take advantage of this opportunity for our daughter, we did schools of choice out of East Lansing. Close Quote
