As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote The academics at this school are top notch. There are plenty of challenging classes (AP, engineering, honors.. ect) , even for the smartest students. Many graduates i have talked to said that their junior and senior year at Carroll were harder than their freshman year at college. Also the GPA is done on a 12 point scale. Finals are mandatory for every student regardless of their grade in the class, and regardless of the class. ( every class has a final at the end of each semester). The other thing about Carroll is that the science and math classes are heavily weighted in the test category (70-75 percent) which makes it tough. Also Carroll has a very good fine arts department, a weightlifting class, some really interesting shop and engineering classes, and tons of other neat stuff like Culinary Arts.

The facilities here are top notch. The school is extremely clean, modern, and well planned. Compared to other schools (public and private) Carroll has one of the nicest schools in Fort Wayne besides Canterbury. The athletic facilities are spectacular (huge new locker rooms, athletic trainers office, coaches offices, and amazing new basketball arena. The only part of the athletic program that is lacking is the football stadium, but there is talk of renovation in the near future.

The administration is known for being extremely strict compared to most public schools (although i may be biased). They are especially strict when it comes to dress code. Other than that they seem to do a good job at maintaining a professional environment in the school.

The students here are just like your other high school students. Cliquey, dramatic ect..There is little diversity when it comes to race (practically 99 percent white), and there seems to be a very large number of Christians at Carroll. (just my observation. Although Carroll does have a large number of wealthy middle class students, it seems like the recent housing developments in the area have attracted a lot of lower income families with students who do drugs and cause trouble. This isn't a problem yet, but in the coming years I would bet that it would be.

Also there are tons of drugs, rampant drinking, and partying within the Carroll student body. If you know the right people.

Overall Carroll is very strong academically. Even the lower level classes are challenging. It WILL prepare you for college and set a student up for success if they push themselves. The athletic programs are pretty strong especially cross country, soccer, baseball, track and wresling. Also the football is getting better in recent years. All i would say is make sure you make friends with the right group of people because they ultimately shape the decisions you make in high school. Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
