Open Quote The way the school treats special needs kids is sick! Especially the special education will treat them like an annoying pest that has no potential in life. And they won't give the student time to think about their answers, they'll just expect the students to know everything in one second. And if you accidentally made a mistake they will start yelling at you and saying cruel things. It's a lie when they tell you the school will help with special needs. The idea of the school helping with special needs is constantly yelling harsh things and pressuring a kid to get the right answers. It's upsetting that people at this school think only neurotypical children have potential in life. Also, the school does absolutely nothing to stop bullying. Gem Prep doesn't care about mental health. It's totally fine at Gem Prep to mock and bully, especially if they are different in any way. No one should be treated badly no matter how different someone is. We all have feelings, we all bleed, and we all are human. No one is perfect and that's okay. We all matter. Please Gem Prep learn that. Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
