Open Quote Some of the office staff can be rude and condescending, but the principle is amazing and more than makes up for it. I am not a fan of the new grading scales but that is across the state so it isn't anything that is only wrong with this school. It is disappointing that a school a few blocks away give free breakfast & lunch to all kids and we have to pay. Overall we have had a decent experience with this school, but nothing to get excited about. Close Quote

Open Quote While this school may be fine for children without special needs, I would not recommend it for kids with special needs. They do not believe in "labels" and are against IEPs... which means that if your child has a special need... they may not get the services they need (and likely won't get any services without a fight). They particularly lack in ability to identify and recognize disabilities such as autism spectrum disorders (even when a child is already diagnosed). Otherwise it is a small school, probably fine for kids with no special needs who do not have difficulty making friends (a little cliquey at times). Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
