Open Quote We are new to this school and I have to say it hasn't been a good experience. The school in general is "cold". There is nothing warming about the school itself or the teachers. Its just NOT personal. The functions are far and few between and the homework is a little ridiculous. I'm hoping there will be a change in the near future. Its great to have high test scores but the overall experience should be should a positive one. Close Quote

Open Quote One of the worst schools in Gwinnett county!!! I don't have any complaint for the system of education which excellent but 90 staff is illiterate, and the kids are also wild as if the teacher's don't discipline them instead they enjoy their wild misbehavior and encourage them to do more, my children have come from Roberts elementary school which is a beautiful school which was highly in discipline. My kids learned to abuse in the first few days of joining sycamore when they never heard of these words in their life even in Roberts, even after I had told the teacher there was no great action that stopped the abusive language of the kids. 11 year old kids want to engage in love and sex, and leave behind the actual reason they have been sent to school for. So send your kids to sycamore only if you want your kids to be abused or if you want to spoil them and loose your kids. I have alot more that happened with my 2 kids in this school and I am planning to take them back to Roberts SHAME! Close Quote

Open Quote Sycamore has dedicated teachers and administrators. I have 3 children that are students there. All of the teachers we have experienced have gone above and beyond as teachers and have completely exceeded our expectations thus making learning fun and exciting for our kids. The administration really listens to the parents and have been so supportive of the needs of my children this past year. Our family cannot say enough good things about this school and its staff. About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
