Open Quote My daughter is having an exceptional educational experience. She is also enjoying chorus and the school plays. She is in advanced classes so I cannot speak for the lower classes. Close Quote

Open Quote Really don't want to rate this school too bad as this school in my house district, but be honestly, this school is far to be good. From the principle to the front desk, they are just not very helpful. Most 6th grade teachers are good... But if you want a politic correct school, and enjoy more as average other than outstanding, not too much academy pressure, not too much after school activity, then this school might be good place to be.. it could be a very good playground for kids to enjoy. Open Quote I have had two children attend school here, one currently, one now in 9th grade. Very involved and caring teachers and staff - very willing to meet with parents, come up with innovative and unique ways to help your student learn. My child is a bit of a ...open personality... and they have been very accommodating but not coddling to this disposition. I came from Dunwoody schools and have been more than pleased with the transition to Alpharetta. Much improved experience, and I have one child in college graduating from Dunwoody High school as well. Open Quote You would do yourself and your child a great service by avoiding this school at any and all costs. This school is run more like a high security prison than it is a middle school. My child has been attending this school for three (3) months and we are already seeking education alternatives. The staff is not very supportive and the school is a dump, considering the area that it is in. Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
