Open Quote We moved to the area without a single thought of the school system. We'd always just assumed we'd go private, and our daughter was still to young to attend Spalding Drive anyway. We immediately started hear from neighbors about the amazing, little school that was just up the street... at first, we assumed it was just a fluke, but more and more people started sharing the sentiment we decided to check it out. We did individual tours on a couple of occasions, attend an information session, and even did a couple of "surprise" visits just to see how they would handle it. Needless to say, we ended up being very impressed. Our daughter has been there for four years, and has loved every minute of it. A great school for sure! Close Quote

Open Quote We have been at Spalding for the past seven years between our two children. One is at the middle school now and doing great. Our experience at Spalding could not have been any better, and it continues to be a hidden gem in Sandy Springs. It's a tiny, neighborhood school where several kids - mine included - walk home from school each day. The parents and teachers are very supportive of each other and the school has a fantastic leadership team in place. We wouldn't want to be anywhere else. Close Quote

Open Quote Both my boys went to school there (2009-2015) and we had a great experience. It's the smallest school in Fulton County, and truly has a neighborhood feel. The teachers are very passionate, and the new principle is super fired up! Even though our kids have moved on, we love the school so much, we still donate money and sponsor events at Spalding Drive. Open Quote This is my son's first year at Spalding Drive. So far, we are very impressed with the teachers, parental involvement, and the student body. The school is undergoing multi-million dollar renovations over the next few summers and boasts a very active PTSA. This school is a fun, safe, nuturing environment! We were so excited when all of the new Pre-K and Kindergarten children were invited to park and pool parties by parents to officially welcome them. Multiple volunteer days and festivals are hosted throughout the year. There are several exciting after school programs offered including Lego building & robotics, dance, drama, music, sports, church-sponsored activities (including a strong relationship with Sandy Springs United Methodist Church), and more. This school is wonderful & definitely deserves more stars!!! Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
