Open Quote I was worried about my child coming to this school. I heard negative things but after my child began school, I have been nothing but impressed. The administration and teachers are amazing!! They really communicate well with the parents. My child comes home happy and excited to tell me about her day. She loves her teachers and get along well with others. I love their Drama program as well... TOP NOTCH!! The principal, vice principal and teachers here put their heart and soul in these kids. Check out this school a you will be amazed. To the parent who posted negative comment in 2016. I believe Mr Broadhead definitely turned it around. My child doesn't do well in a non controlled environment and I can say this school is five stars and plus!!! Close Quote

Open Quote We gave this school a year. There are way to many distractions. Same troubled kids acting out day in and day out. Tired of hearing excusses from staff (i.e. "In connections classes the kids don't listen, because they are done with school for the day" , or from the Assistant Principal, " It's the end of the year, their too excited to respect other peers." Most of the kids have no respect for their peers. The bathrooms especially in PE have clogged toilets and boys piss all over .. need I go on?
Procedures put in place are not followed. Coaches can punish a child, telling him for "snitching" is made to do 5 push ups along side with the boy that got int trouble. Halls unsafe because its a free for all. Lower and higher lockers our out at the same time and no hall monitoring in place. But if your child is in enrichment classes, by all means send them, the are in a healthy bubble. If not, be sure your child takes self defense lessons. Been to a PTO meeting, there were only "16" parnets ( school has over 1,000 students) Parents of these children are not engaged with their kids educations and these problems will only get worst if kids at these ages are not taught how to be respectful. This used to be an awesome neighbor school. It's not anymore. Dr.Broadhead, this is his first year as principle, he's trying. I wish him the best. Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
