Open Quote This school is one of the elite elementary schools in DeKalb County! Beating the Odds every year for the past 6 years, our school has a unique skill set that our students embody which helps them excel academically, socially, and emotionally. We truly care about all of the students and parents we come in contact with here. Not one student who comes to us struggling will leave us struggling as our Teachers pride themselves in reaching each student at the level in which he/she may understand while moving them from beginning, to developing and later proficient in academic subject areas. Our active and involved parents are some of the best in the world as they fully support the vision and mission of the school just as the Faculty and Staff do. Close Quote

Open Quote This school is not that much good. Because the teachers do not teach the students. My dautghter is now 4th grader, she do not know how to add numbers, divide numbers, multiply numbers. I have to teach her my self at home or I have to find some kind of action very soon. Close Quote

Open Quote Robert Shaw use to be a GREAT school. However, within the past 4 - 5 years there has been a principal who is one of the most control obsessed individuals I have ever met. Current leadership mentality is that of a dictatorship...I..I..I...me...me..me. What happened to us...we? Under current leadership, teacher morale is very low despite how much parents attempt to show teachers how much they are appreciated. I'm so thankful I have no more affiliation with that school. About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
