Open Quote Montgomery Elementary is one of the best kept secrets in DeKalb County. The faculty and staff truly care about children and want to see them achieve and flourish in a loving environment. The PTA and school community truly support the school and initiatives that are being implemented. In addition to gifted certification, teachers are also Orton Gillingham trained. Close Quote

Open Quote I didn't know what the school was like until my son told me. The teachers are mean to him they tell him he can't do well when he is trying his best. i'd rate 0 stars if i could Close Quote

Open Quote This is a great school with very competent and caring teachers. All teachers are gifted certified and the principal holds them all to high standards. Strong PTA and funding. School is on track for STEM certification by 2015. Close Quote

Open Quote The parent's make this school! The PTA is awesome! However, because they are so good, the teacher's and administration are lazy. The principal could care less about your children as she is all about the bottom line. If you aren't pouring hundreds of dollars into their school fund and your child isn't the model student, then you can forget about them getting the extra care they need. Close Quote

About Student-Teacher Ratio
Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
