Open Quote The new Principal is Incompetent!! ALL the children have assigned seating during their, quiet, lunch. Your child will NOT be allowed to sit next to their friend. Forget about a happy snack time. They all have what the Principal calls “Working snack”. Then my second grader tells me her only recess is at 2 pm, just before they leave. Five and a half hours without a break. Do you work five and a half hours without a break? Consider this quality of life: 20 minute, ASSIGNED seating, QUIET lunch, WORKING snacks and NO recess until the end of the day. Plus if your child misses a day of school they WILL be doing their make-up work during their only recess when they get back. "Recess Club". I thought there were child labor laws preventing all of this? My daughter told me that her teacher spends most of her time texting on her phone. This is the most unfriendly school I have been to. Parent participation in the classroom is discouraged. When asked if I could participate in a special activity in my Daughter s class I was told NO, no parents are allowed. Before you enroll your child here, be sure to get the full story on what goes on at this school/hard labor camp Close Quote

Open Quote I looked at every school (Woodward, Heritage, Trinity, Landmark) and I am so glad that I chose White Oak. If you live in this district and are considering the private schools in the area please talk to the parents and schedule an appointment to tour White Oak. I think you will be impressed. About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
