Open Quote I love this elementary school! The teachers encourage and engage the students with positive high energy. They take the time to speak life into the students and lay a bedrock of a positive education. Close Quote

Open Quote This school is amazing! Both of my children have now completed 6 years at this school. I didn't know, when I bought a house in this district, what a blessing this school would be to our family. The teachers that my children had were all wonderful people who love the students in their classes. They have prepared my students for middle school and beyond. Such an excellent place to lay the foundation for your child's education!!! This school is like a big family. Lots of focus on family. Lots of fun after school events. A very involved PTA. Teachers who care enough to show up and participate in the after school stuff. I just can't say how much I love this school and how sad I am to see our time here end! Close Quote

Open Quote As a parent of two I am so pleased with the education they are receiving at Keheley. The teachers, staff and administration are excellent. Teacher:student ratios are good. The school has strong support from PTA and the school foundation. It’s the “best kept secret in Cobb Co”! Close Quote

Open Quote Keheley is a small public school that makes you feel like you're at a private school. The leadership team is amazing and personally invests in every student. We have been so happy with the teachers and smaller class size. We have a 2nd grader and kindergartner this year and have been at Keheley for 3 years now. We love it so much that we moved out of the district but did school of choice to keep the kids at Keheley. This school focuses on the whole student... academics, character, self esteem, independence, and helping every student be their best self!! You can palpate the devotion to student success, safety, and happiness. We have a child with sensory issues, anxiety, ADD, and Tourette's and Keheley has been amazing with her. They put her well being and personal success first and are always available to me. They are receptive, responsive, flexible, and supportive beyond our expectations. They were very helpful at establishing and implementing a 504 plan for her. There is no other school in East Cobb we'd want to send our kids. Close Quote

Open Quote We moved away from this school a year and a half ago and miss it terribly. What an outstanding school this is. Every teacher is beyond caring and personal with the students and parents. The school events are plentiful and amazing. We truly miss this school and all of the staff. Close Quote

Open Quote School principals hand out severe punishments for minor infractions based on hearsay. They hide behind "policy" when confronted with common sense. They intimidated my child to tears in front of his peers during their "investigation".

Frankly I believe that they use far too much law enforcement language for a middle school and they seek to make boys act like timid girls.

When questioned on the appropriateness of their actions they righteously recite code sections from manuals and defer your concerns to the "school police officer".

Some of the teachers have spoken about how Republican candidates are bad and about how Obama is good which I don't appreciate either. This teacher wasn't even teaching a related subject.

They also gave one of our children food when my wife was going to bring her lunch during a visitation and just had not arrived yet (which they KNEW). They then sent us nasty letters saying WE OWE them after we didn't even consent to the charges! Close Quote

Open Quote I have had two children in this school since 2008. I love the staff. They treat you like family and are very easy to work with. Lori Armbruster is a God send and will do anything to make your children feel comfortable. I am grateful for this school! Close Quote

Open Quote We are new to Cobb and to this school. I have never experienced such unfair treatment. The administration and the principal are horrible and have not been accommodating. I have two daughters with IEPs and they are second graders. The principal is being so unreasonable as to make us park in a space that is 100 feet or more away from the entrance of the school and not letting us go through the car pool line. I guess she is too afraid to have a few cars have to wait a few moments while I unload also where there is coverage on rainy days. One of my girls has cerebral palsy and does not walk independently and uses a walker and a wheelchair. I am continuing to fight this...also the entire special education department that handles this cluster is refusing to have an inclusion classroom to meet the girls needs and other children who receive services. If Cobb schools ever had a good reputation, Keheley is at the bottom of the list. Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
