Open Quote My son is in the advanced classes and they seem to be providing a sound education. I can not speak for how the on level or remedial classes behave. I do wish there was better communication from the school about what the different levels of classes meant, as the names can be misleading.
There is a solid assortment of after school and before school programs. Close Quote

Open Quote Worst school ever. Bullying is a big problem & they dont do anything but try to cover things up. My son was attacked at this school by another student. They sent my son home on the bus sick as heck. I was never notified by anyone from the school that he was injured or to come and pick him up. He told them he wasnt feeling well but they ignored him. He was hospitalized with a bad concussion as a result of this attack. Now the school is retaliating against me & my son because we wanted answers, complained, & pressed charges against the crazy kid that almost killed my child. So school just started and they've already emailed me twice on their own behalf claiming my son was "defiant & to receive in school suspension". Today they tell me that they are kicking my son out of school & he did not do anything wrong! My son is the sweetest kid. So much for speaking up. I guess they just expect for everything to get swept under the rug. And if u try to correct them they punish you-what a corrupt school. I am actually thankful that he wont be going there anymore he only wanted to stay because of his friends, but i don't trust them to care for my child everyday and neither should anyone else. The principal, administrators, and teachers could care less about our kids well being. They have no problem notifying you of what they feel is incorrect, but will ignore when your child feels something is not right- even a severe headache & vomiting from a concussion. East Cobb Middle School is a trash school Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
