Open Quote I'm trying to get my child out of this school district!!!! Every time I've gone to Thurgood Marshall, the teachers have NEVER greeted me. They're too busy yelling at the students. I initially thought it was probably one or two teachers yelling and fussing at the kids, but it was literally EVERY classroom that I passed by. That is ridiculous! I know that children don't always listen, but if you expect them to sit completely still in a classroom for 7 hours a day, you're CRAZY!! Literally!! This is the WORST school my child has ever gone to. I wanted to rate them a zero but that wasn't an option. The teachers in this school need additional education, beginning with compassion and love. Sometimes kids have to worry about other kids bullying them. At Thurgood Marshall, the biggest bullies are the teachers!!! They're the role models and that's how they act.......then they're surprised when the children act like that too. Pathetic!! Close Quote

Open Quote I have been connected to Thurgood Marshall for the past 5 years. It has had to transition through 3 Administrators which by the way can be very difficult for any school. Personally, I think Thurgood Marshall is a really great school. Mrs. Adams, Mrs. Huff, Mrs. Fletcher, Mr. Brown, Mr. Williams, Coach, Mrs. Ellison and oh my goodness the Parent Liason, Mrs. Change really make it happen at Thurgood Marshall. I think instead of complaining so much, their needs to be much more parent involvement. Thurgood Marshall has made so many efforts to present workshops, seminars, parent feedback etc. to make Thurgood better. Most of the teachers that I connected with were pretty good. Remember, many teachers left the district so most schools were short staffed or had there school in mind where they wanted to teacher. One of my grandchildren had to endure having many Sub teachers and had some difficulty adapting other that, the Administrators and staff were absolutely FINE. GET INVOLVED. Close Quote

Open Quote The school is a train wreck. The principal never leaves her office to assist with discipline. She is 60 plus and needs to step aside. Kids are bullied on a daily basis. The principal is more concerned about the look of the hallway and classroom walls then the true problems within the school. The teachers are miserable! If you try to leave, admin will ruin your name!
