Open Quote If you actually care about your child’s education please THINK twice before sending your child here. My child went to kindergarten here for only a good 3 months and here’s my factual observations just take a tour of the school yourself you will see.
1. 22 students to 1 teacher
2. 90 African American students, meaning no diversity at all.
3. About 85 students receive free lunch
4. Bullying is tolerated
5. Found out people sell drugs directly across the street from this elementary school
6. If you ever have an issue with the way your child is being treated, expect the principal and vice principal to ALWAYS be on the teacher side under any circumstances
7. The school is practically run down and considered an “inner city” school,
8. This school is behind in testing in the whole city of Savannah schools, meaning your child will get behind.
There’s more but I wrote this to hopefully save someone else the headache and hassle from dealing with this school. Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
