Open Quote MY Child just started Finch Elementary today, but i'm starting to kind of regret my decision sending her there after i saw their ratings, reviews and scores, was not pleased at all! i saw that they were 50% below where they should be, and the ratings and reviews were not good at all. I don't want to judge too soon because the school might just be pretty good but im just gonna wait and see what happens and just stay very involved with the school and if I see the Current ratings and reviews are correct about this School I will be pulling My child out ASAP! But now im just hoping for the best. Close Quote

Open Quote My children has attended Finch Elementary School for two years and over all I would say that they have great teachers. In this particular school parents must get involved, because if you don't then your child will be left behind. The administrators are hard to deal with, however the teachers are great!!! They do not have enough activities to challenge the children learning; furthermore they place the children in groups "inner city children". Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
