Open Quote We cannot wait to leave this school. There are so many issues and concerns. Such a disorganized mess without any sense of transparency. Forget trying to talk to the AP and Principal. They haven't a clue what they are doing. Coming from a highly rated school with a wonderful curriculum really gave us a sense of how awful Imagine is. Of course we won't be returning. Close Quote

Open Quote Not at all as presented. The class sizes are actually LARGER than public school. They do not like parent involvement in class and the poor kids are subjected to being separated throughout the day based on learning levels. Just in K they have 5 teachers plus another teacher for learning group. Kids that behave well and do well in academics are ignored, most focus is put on kids with behavior problems and/or behind academically. It is not a family oriented school at all teachers actually YELL at the students and belittle them. When a parent questions procedures and/or teaching the teachers retaliate and treat the parent like garbage. Little to no response from teachers and extremely little feedback on the children's progress. No activities for the younger grades. Security is a total joke, while there is a sheriff there, the teachers are not accountable. The principal believes her staff does no wrong and does not reprimand her staff when they legally violate a written agreement or treat someone horribly. She is all about the money and looking good on paper. The school itself is dark and a bit gloomy, no playground the most horrific registration process ever. Total chaos with no one knowing what to do or how to do it. No help from the VP or Dean of the school either, extremely poor communication all the way around. Unless you are zoned for a D rated school, do not send your child to Imagine. if your child is advanced, they will be bored here completely and then behind once they leave the school. Close Quote

Open Quote like other pasco schools, teachers here are underpaid and overworked. the staff here could use more training and would be better to have fewer administration labels as dean principal etc. messages do not get relayed between all the various people and nothing is really accomplished Close Quote

Open Quote Imagine is a wonderful school! The teacher/student ratios are far better than most public schools and the teachers actually care about the learning of each individual child. Ms. Helean is a great principal and has improved a lot with the school since she has come. I would refer anyone to send their kids to Imagine. My child was struggling at a nearby public school but once I moved her to Imagine, she has a new enthusiasm for school and is doing great. Close Quote

Open Quote My son started kindergarten this year at Imagine and loves it. His teachers are great and he learns not only about basic reading, writing, and arithmetic but also about being a good citizen and having good character. They also have a variety of great extracurricular activities available if you and your child wish to participate. We are very happy with his school and his teachers. The two things very important to me in a school are...does my child like to go to school and is he learning and progressing well. The answer to both of these is most definitely...yes!

Regarding the prior poster: My son was also in the same cluster as this child and was injured directly as a result of this child's behavior shortly after the beginning of the school year. I understand that children of this age have some self control issues and behavioral problems but when it's to the point that others are injured as a result of their violence or behavior I don't think the school has a choice but to remove them from the classroom. Just as much as your child has a right to a good education, my child has a right to go to school and feel safe, without fear of being injured by another child's violence. Parenting is our responsibility, not the school or the teachers. By kindergarten children need to have at least enough self control to maintain themselves without causing disruption or injuring the other children who are in the class, well behaved, and ready to learn. If my child were sent home from school due to his behavior is would most definitely be a punishment NOT a treat. YOU decide which one by proper discipline at home and following through on what happened at school. There comes a time when we parents need to be accountable and take responsibility for our children's behavior and not pointing the finger at the school or teachers. My child is no angel and occasionally gets in trouble at school, but he is also punished appropriately at home for it and rewarded when he does very well. I wish the best for your child and hope you find the right environment for him to learn and thrive.

When looking for a school for your child, do your research! Talk to parents that have children that go there, get details. Then choose the one that best fits your child's needs. For me, this was Imagine and I am very happy I made this choice.

A proud Imagine parent. Close Quote

Open Quote School is ill equiped and under staffed, I sent my son into kindergarten with hopes that it would be better than his home based school, Boy!! Was I wrong, the administration lacks any motivation or patience with kids, especially finding out the Principal Kathy Helean comes from an alterantive school with no principal experience. Our family actually gave the principal and teachers my son was going to advice from behavior analyst and school pychologist (which I paid) on how to handle kids with ESE needs. Principal and teachers after receiving very important tools didn't follow through would rather send a K home (at a K age is a treat for them not a punishment) instead of teaching a child what they did wrong. I found out that have the teachers left with the last principal, sad, that should have been a warning sign, and then seeing a news post from another mom who went and had a news article done on how this school is mismanaged and unorganized. Open Quote Horrible school!!!!! This is the second year my child has went to this school. The first year went really well because they had a different principal and better teachers...this year they hire people without teaching skills!!!!!!! One teacher use to work as a construction worker before teaching!!.....very unorganized...teachers do not update the homework websites like they should...they have the same teachers teaching all different classes because other teachers keep leaving the school...Don't waste your time sending your kid to this school you will only regret it like I have!!! Oh and another thing....when it is cold outside and your child wears any other jacket that does not say imagine school on it they will make them remove it as they made my child and my child came home really sick therefore missing days of school because of it..they need John Selover back in there as the principal and teachers who are qualified to teach!!! It's just really sad what that school has become... Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
