Open Quote First question I have to ask here is does this school have a Principal? If there is one then I am in shock because I have never had a conversation with them, never had an email or voicemail returned, and have never gotten any indication that any of my concerns or questions are important enough to acknowledge. Is there a Principal? If there is then I would say they are completely rude and distant. What a HUGE mistake I have made sending my kids to a school where they are bullied by students and teachers yet somehow the issues are covered up and the offenders are protected. A school where my child is least important because I am not a PTA member. The worst schools in the worst neighborhoods up north are a Million times better because the teachers don't discriminate and there is accountability. Close Quote

Open Quote Ms. Smith knows just about every student's name. She may have been strict in her tenure but it kept he school running well and students on task when trouble was around. As a parent I had several conversations with Ms. Smith and Mrs. Gosick and felt I was fairly listened to and helped in whatever the situation was. The school has a well maintained campus and most of the teachers are excellent. There will always be those that are not up to par in any school. Close Quote

Open Quote Principal treats this school like her own private dictatorship. Parents and community are not very involved and involvment is not desired except for the few who enjoy some favored status by showing deference to the Principal. Low energy level school. Not a recipe for building champions of the future. Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
