Dislike school and staff is not very friendly . And they have double jeopardy when student has oss ! Find this very unfair ! Changing schools because of this ! Close Quote

Our experience at this school has been a huge disappointment. The town ranted and raved about this school and we requested special placement so our children could attend and it ended up being a huge mistake. Their teaching method, or lack thereof for some teachers, is ridiculous. They don't formally teach the children, they assign work packets and give the children a deadline to complete and don't allow ample time in the week to accurately finish. Children can't raise their hand if they have a question, they're supposed to write their name on the board and the teacher helps them when they can. So if your child needs guidance on a question in their packet and the teacher doesn't get to their name, the child doesn't know how to complete the work, which they're then penalized for by receiving an F or zero. Their grades are monitored via online and the teachers have to update the child's profile by entering their earned grade, which half the teachers don't regularly do. So if your child completes a project or packet and submits it but the teacher doesn't enter the final grade then your child's online grade is zero. We have to constantly send emails requesting the grades be updated so we can see our child's current grade and accurate progress. Not to mention one teacher in particular loses the submitted homework and tries to blame the child, accusing they didn't complete. We proved on one instance that our child indeed submitted the work and miraculously their grade was updated the next day, after the teacher swore our child didn't complete it. I've heard tale a certain teacher even struck a child, although that teacher no longer works there, it wasn't due to being fired, they merely transferred to another school within the county. Our child was assaulted by another student so our child defended themselves, rightfully so, and it ended up being our child who was reprimanded by the principal nothing was done to the aggressor. We of course didn't scold our child for defending themselves but it's hard to preach kindness and good citizenship to your children when they see bullies being allowed to be bullies. We've always been an A student family but since attending Centennial our child has struggled needlessly and aggressively just to maintain. The faculty calls their new teaching method a tool to teach the children independence but we say it's setting them up for failure. Our job is teach independence, the schools job is to academically teach, which our children are doing for themselves. Beware Close Quote
