Open Quote Worst experience of my life. School completely censored parents. Unless you didn’t ask questions, then they loved you. Most teachers are unaccredited. Lied to parents about grades. Failed at state testing. My daughter was given 15 minute to take a 140 minute FAST test. Teacher told her to guess it doesn’t matter. Embarrassing on so many levels. Please stay away. Your children will thank you when there older. Close Quote

Open Quote Jacksonville Classical uses a time-tested and thoughtful curriculum. Content-rich, balanced, and strong, with an emphasis on the four core disciplines of math, science, literature, and history, and attention to music, art, physical education, and foreign language. Close Quote

Open Quote Jacksonville Classical is clean and the staff and teachers make you feel welcome and part of a family. My son is in the 7th grade, we transferred in from what was 'supposed' to be one of DCPS best STEAM Schools - it was the worst experience! My son comes home excited to learn and completely engaged. I simply can not say enough about how much we love this school! Close Quote

Open Quote The bus transportation issue (cancelled bus route after 1st day of school) has caused many parents issues with scrambling to get their child to and from school everyday and make it to work on time. The communication from this school is lacking to say the least. My daughter has enjoyed going to JXC and the teachers have been helpful. However when calling to speak to administrators about concerns regarding transportation I get no email back and I leave messages that go unreturned. Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
