Open Quote Teachers say they are trying to help the kids pass, but yet they never pull through on makeup packets or grade recovery. Sometimes the teachers act as if they are on a child level by gossiping with the kids. Also I've heard administration talk down to the students like they are failures. Thats not acceptable. Open Quote Be careful of this school! Your child will not learn about the vital curriculum necessary to move on to a good high school. This school has been investigated about its curriculum by Duval County Public Schools. For example, their civics class teaches the children about Lesbian, Gays, Transgender, and Bisexuals, Dirty Wars, and police brutality. They do not teach the children about how the government works and the constitution. My child came out of that school testing a year behind her actual grade. This school does NOT align with the KIPP Foundation. Teachers leave in a mass exodus every year and under the principal Warren Buck, the entire staff from 2013 has left. The band instructors that led the school to their superior rating have left as well. Another note, the promise your child will get into Paxon, Bolles, Episcopal, or Lee Early College is by no means accurate. At most, 5% of the students will achieve this goal. It is a better school than some alternatives, such as Eugene Butler but seriously, look at your child’s work on a daily basis! You cannot trust what they are putting in your child’s head. If you want your child indoctrinated, enroll them here. Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
