Open Quote This school is very diligent. Paxon is a school where all of the students get along, because we're all here for one reason- to go to college. Though we focus on classes during the appropriate times, our social lives are just as important to us, we just prioritize :)
On a lesser note-with the recent transportation issues, Paxon has lost plenty of students. We are educated enough to know that the transport, and "budget cuts" are a good excuse to raise the grades in the standard public schools. Get rid of the Magnet programs, and you gain more, "smarts" in the neighborhood schools, but that just hurts our future generations. There is a reason schools like Paxon School for Advanced Studies, and Stanton College Preperatory exist- to help the faster, and more determined students get more credit, and be as prepared for college, as they possibly can, and be prepared for the 'real world' as well.

The 'children' are our future, and Paxon definantly prepares you for it!
Through the rigorous classes, the brain-numbing tests, Paxon challenges it's students. The teachers are amazing, they work you until you feel like your going to explode!! But they know how to do it well, by throwing in sarcasm, and other humor... and memorizing tips.

On the best note- I absolutely love Paxon, I've been there since freshman year. Go Juniors :D C/O 13 :) Close Quote

Open Quote I am a sophomore at Paxon School for Advanced Studies, and I guarantee that this school is all its put out to be. Paxon is a very academic based school, we work very hard, and we also have fun amidst the studies. Our school is very diverse, in races, ethnicity, and culture-the way we dress, speak, and act, but we're all here for the same thing... To get prepared for college, and to further our goals in any and all professions. Paxon offers advanced placement classes, which can earn you credits in college, sports, clubs, and a language that most schools don't offer-Latin. I know Latin is a dead language, and is not even spoken any more, but it helps with any medical career, SAT's, ACT's and understanding any other language. Paxon students know how to act in the classroom, in comparison with at home, or even at lunch, the students are respective, compassionate, and studious.

Before coming to Paxon, I was quiet, shy, and got straight A's without trying, now, I have to work just as hard as anyone else. Paxon teachers are very close with students, and create a lot of direct contact with them, resulting in working at different paces for the fastest, and slowest learners. Since arriving at Paxon, I'm very outgoing, and I have had a boost of self esteem, but my studies are my top priority.

Paxon is the prime choice for future high-schoolers devoted to working as hard as they can to get what they want to accomplish, teachers qualified to teach such students, and devoted parents, willing to involve themselves in their children's
--and their own-- futures...

I give my experience at Paxon a 100%, my devotion to Paxon a 150%, my gained knowledge a 200%, and my college opportunities, thanks to Paxon an increase of atleast 75%...

:D

*always go for the one that will help you out in the future, not the one that's easier on you in the present*

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
