Open Quote In my opinion, this is the best school in the area. My son has been attending EKB since Kindergarten and will be graduating from 5th grade this year. This school has provided him with a solid base for his future education. Close Quote

Open Quote I am proud in SO many ways that both of my kids are part of such an amazing school! Back in 2008 when my oldest daughter was in kindergarten with Mrs. Alvarez, she was having some difficulty, nothing major but thankfully Mrs. Alvarez noticed it and targeting the problem until she got it right and my oldest is on her way to SUCCESS. First grade was a smooth ride thanks to Mrs. Sangles! Words cant describe how grateful I am to her and Mrs. Alvarez.
I wasn't so lucky when my youngest started Pre-K in 2010. Although the teachers are great, not everyone has that targeting attitude. Now that she's in Kinder my daughter feels as if the world is coming down on her because she wouldn't concentrate in Pre-K and put no interest into school. Not the teachers fault. Again, how wonderful 2nd chances are! She has Mrs. Hernandez/Davis which has just exceeded and has denied to give up on my daughter. Although a lot of parents DONT usually acknowledge great teachers, I consider my daughter as well as myself lucky to have you on our side as her teacher. Thank you for all the effort put on your behalf to help my daughter, believing in her and not giving up. You all have been the greatest! (Mrs. Alvarez, Mrs. Sangles & Mrs. Davis)

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
