Open Quote We move from Weston, FL 3 years ago and my kids had been on this school for 3 years, my youngest son had difficulties with his reading skills, I worked with his teachers, ESOL Staff and Principal, we had several meetings and my son is doing great now, he will be starting 3rd grade this 2016-2017. The people is very nice in this city and I just don't love the City I love the School and the people. My recommendation for those with kids with problems is talk with the principal he is there to help. Close Quote

Open Quote Unfortunately, I agree with previous reviews. This school will be only good if you have a caring teacher. Otherwise, you'll fill yourself trapped in a maze. There's a lack of communication in this school; they don't respond to all your emails or phone calls. It feels like they're avoiding you. They make you feel like your concerns aren't important. Our child has regressed academically at this school. There was also bullying and the teacher mishandled the situation. Teacher seems overwhelmed and yells a lot and she lacks of effective classroom management. The principal is a very nice guy and wants to help you; however, it's difficult to get in touch with him and so far we haven't seen any results. We are always pretty involved in our children education. This year we learned that if you don't see results at the beginning of the year; you'll be better off transferring your child to another school where they take your concerns seriously. We are doing our best to help our child to end the school year here. We just honestly wish our experience had been better. Close Quote

Open Quote I couldn't agree more with the other poster with regards to this school and lack of concern. This school has been by far a complete disappointment, but Broward schools are just that! When I approached the appropriate staff because my child needed extra assistance I was met with disdain and hostility from the staff that is supposed to educate and care about my child. Don’t question this school about what you feel YOUR child needs. If you actually want your children to have a real education send them to private school! This school tries to draw people based on the high priced area and their fancy exterior but that’s all it is, an empty shell. Close Quote

Open Quote I would give this school zero stars if that were an option. We bought a house in Parkland with the understanding that the area has excellent schools. However, they fail to inform you that the school is only excellent for those "gifted" children. If your child has any type of disability or learning difference for example, learning disabilities, ADHD, mild autism spectrum, CP, speech-language etc the school does not have the ability to teach children with learning differences nor do they want to. I provided them ample time to educate my child and he has regressed educationally under their care. I would advise strongly not to buy a home in this area. If you are going to spend 800K plus on a home, go to Boca and send your child to private school. Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
