Open Quote Regarding the junior/senior campus: The teachers are good however the administration leaves something to be desired. A lot of these reviews are fake. “Friends” are asked to beef up the ratings. They seem to only care about ratings and money. Close Quote

Open Quote The teachers at OCS truly care about their students. They spend hours collaborating with peers and instructional coaches to make sure students are given the best possible learning opportunities. The strive to help students reach their full potential, not just “covering the material,” but gaining a full understanding, meeting and exceeding goals. While academics and safety are priority, teachers also know the importance of building those relationships with their students, ensuring students feel comfortable in their environment. Close Quote

Open Quote The teachers bring the rigor. Odyssey is an A rated school. The riff raff factor among the student body is less than half of the other schools. There is little tolerance for delinquent behavior. The college bound student is best served here and most appreciative of the setting while those looking for the path of least academic resistance toward their diploma should attend elsewhere Close Quote

Open Quote Odyssey is the top performing school in Palm Bay and all surrounding areas. It offers a top notch education for pre-school through 12th grades. Lots of collegiality. Well rounded extra-curricular and a growing athletic program. If you want an academically rigorous school and a school that cares about your child, this is as good as it gets. Close Quote

Open Quote Teachers barely help students and are really rude. I would say they treat the kids like it's an elementary school and my kid is in high school. This is pathetic. No funds towards athletics. The only good coach they had for basketball got fired and they had 3 in one year and a poor season. There is nothing this school has that any other school doesn't. DON'T send your kid here. Close Quote

Open Quote Class sizes are too large! Any child that doesn't fit the "cookie-cutter" mold will probably have difficulties in this school. Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
