As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote Colorado Connections Academy is a Public Online School that offers a challenging curriculum. It isn't easy and the students have required classes and tests that are above the normal Core classes. The Staff and Teachers go out of their way to give the help that their students need. The success of each student really lays within themselves. Parents guide their children through the program with the assistance of computer programs, books and Live Lessons. The one thing I enjoyed about Connections is we can go to competitions, vacations or family time and we have everything we need. No need for preparing books, extra schoolwork etc... it is all on the computer. Teachers are only a call or text away. There will be those that are disappointed with the online learning. It really comes to how much time you and your child are willing to give to learning an excellent education. A diploma any graduate would be proud of! Not a good fit if you do not get involved. Unlike the traditional schools you need to be your child's motivator. Close Quote

Open Quote If you have multiple children enrolled it may be a challenge to get school done. You will need more than one computer for sure.
In my opinion, the school work load is a lot for grades 4th-6th. The are required to complete lessons, complete portfolios and attend Live Lessons.
I school is not that flexible with how or when the students can complete school. You are not able to move around from completing units they must be done in order.
The teachers are overall great in the 2 years we were with CO Connections. We only encountered two bad apples. Close Quote

Open Quote My child attended this school for almost a full year and had a very horrible experience through attending Connections Academy. There are a lot of things very wrong with this school. The facility we encountered treated us very ill and rudely. They do not truly care for your child's education. If your child falls behind, they will not be understanding and willing to help you. They say on their ads that your child can "work at their own pace" but this statement is false. They have a daily planner on how much work your child needs to complete everyday and if your child falls behind they will be very condemning, and unwilling to be understanding. Even if your child is trying to catch up and is willing to try their best, they will not care, they care more about their school ratings and school stats. If your child is not getting good grades and good attendance they are not willing to help you, work with you, or help your child get on the right path. They will turn their backs on you and drop you without hesitation. Their 1-800 help line is an unorganized mess. Their connexus website for online courses has a lot of bugs and problems. My child was experiencing constant crashes, tests unable to submit, and you aren't even able to save your progress on how much work you got done. It needs a lot of work and the teachers are totally clueless on how to help you with all the bugs their system has. On their website it says above 90% of parents approve this curriculum, that is because they only ask the very few select parents with kids who aren't struggling in school to write reviews. If your kid struggles in school, stay as far away as possible from this school, they are not looking to help you. If you have a perfect A+ student then maybe this school could be a good option for you but don't expect understanding and help from them if your child isn't performing their best. Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
