As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote This schools is awful. I don’t recommend going here. The administration is biased, racist, and sexist. The teachers don’t teach, they just sit at their desks all day on their phone or laptops and assign worksheets and then expect you to learn and test well on the material. That’s only a little preview of the school. Close Quote

Open Quote I would give it no stars but then I can’t write a comment. I am a student at Erie high school and it is terrible. Administration is not good and is racist. One specific person kicked my friends dad out of the school just because he is not white. Also, the same guy told my friend her shirt was too revealing when it was not too short or too revealing at all. He just seems to have it in for us. Also, the teachers don’t do anything. They do not care if you don’t understand something. They just move on and aren’t actually concerned about your growth and understanding of things. One teacher is amazing and when we don’t understand she takes the time to go over it until we understand and she is patient with us and doesn’t get mad or upset when we don’t understand. Another of my teachers got very mad when our class didn’t understand something and proceeded to call us stones instead of just calling us stupid. So many of the things we learn about are pointless and make no sense and will never be used in real life. The choir teacher her is amazing she is so kind and helpful and knows how to make school fun. I have learned so much in her class and the other amazing teacher I listed above. I feel as though I have not learned anything in any other classes. Many of my friends are failing and absolutely hate coming to this school. My friend has said that the only reason she stays at this school is because of me and her other friends. It may seem great from the outside and staff may seem nice and pleasant but as soon as you step inside the school or classroom and see what they are actually like without putting on a show you will see how fake, horrible, and bad Erie High School actually is. I hope you take the time to read this even though it’s long. Close Quote

Open Quote I would not recommend Erie to anyone looking to enroll. Not only is the staff unhelpful and uncooperative, the teachers are less than proficient. The kids at Erie High are rude, unforgiving, and just down right bullies. The food is less than adequate, there are serious gang/drug related issues, and frankly, no one gives a damn. The classroom environment is not what you would want your kids to be learning in, due to today's social media aspect. Definitely not a school I would my kids to be going to. An alternative to Erie is St. Vrain Online Global Academy in Longmont. This online based school lets the kids work at their own pace, and provides help when needed or asked for. There are several teachers ready and willing to help your student, whether it be in the classroom or at home. There are many ways to contact your teachers at home, by text, email, and even voice calling. They will work with you every step of the way until you are successful. The kids are allowed breaks at their own schedule, it is a very quiet and stress-free learning environment. The kids can either bring their own laptop, or they are provided one in one of the 3 Mac Labs they have available. School lunch is provided, some days made by the culinary students enrolled into the Career Development Center, in which SVOGA shares its home, along with Olde Columbine Public Highschool. The Career Development Center is also available to the student attending SVOGA. The classes range from cosmetology, where your student studies 2 years to, in turn, get their state issued cosmetology license, to culinary, to agriculture, to welding, to automotive, and much more. If your student has a hard time adjusting to SVOGA, no worries! They can transfer to Olde Columbine Public Highschool in a jiffy. The staff in this building are very cooperative and encouraging. They genuinely care about the well- being of their students, and would love to welcome even more. Is there a problem getting your child to and from Longmont? No problem! These schools offer a variety of bus times and locations for you student to be picked up and dropped off. Pick-up times at Erie High are 7:25, 9:05, 10:55, and 12:25. Buses back to Erie are at 9:15, 11:05, and 3:00. Before you consider enrolling your student in Erie, consider these more successful options. Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
