As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote Zero student advocacy, violate if not outright ignore IEPs for students needing support, or those who are gifted and need to be challenged. Super political school, rude staff, high teacher turnover and for what it’s worth, after 5 years I could never figure out why the front office was so rude. This school had so much potential. It’s disappointing to see it being ran into the ground. Leadership overhaul badly needed.
Avoid Aspen View if you can, so many other schools in the area are much… and I mean much, better. Close Quote

Open Quote The Principal has no leadership qualities and is terrible at communication. The teachers are good, but the turnover is high. The board isn't focused on anything, other than their personal agenda. Your children deserve better. Close Quote

Open Quote The School has experienced a 60 turnover in instructors during the past two years. The middle school education has deteriorated greatly in the past two years to the point where a majority of students have chosen not to return. 3rd principal in last 4 years will soon start. Major turnaround is needed. Close Quote

Open Quote I found that the teachers in the school are very good, genuinely care about students, and want the best for their students.

The administration receives poor marks, though. They fail to follow their own policies when it comes to discipline. They have a 5 step process for discipline, with communication to parents in all steps. My child came home with a suspension notice one day, with a letter stating that there have been repeated and ongoing issues. None of those repeated and ongoing issues were ever brought to my attention. As parents, we easily could have done our job to mold our child's behavior, but were not given that opportunity. When asked about the repeated and ongoing issues, the administration was unable to provide any information and instead stated the they did not have to provide any information due to a FERPA law. So we are left wondering what those issues were, or if they even happened. My child doesn't go to that school anymore because I don't feel like I can trust the administration. Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
