As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote I LOVE this school! I have two kids - one is GT and the other has Special Needs, and both of them love this place. They have been at Pine Lane since kindergarten, and they have thrived here. The teachers and leadership love kids, and it is a wonderful, loving place for my kids to grow up. Close Quote

Open Quote We have had students at Pine Lane for the last 10 years and have been very happy there. It isn't our neighborhood school but we've open enrolled due to the gifted and talented program, STEAM programming and EL approach to learning. The overall culture of the school is very welcoming and there is a lot of family involvement. Close Quote

Open Quote Pine Lane is a tremendous school! It has a very strong PTO, staff and administration. A full time RTI staff, ELS staff, stem, choir, band and so much more. Administration is quick to respond to any concerns. Pine Lane is a strong community school that is full of giving parents willing to help support our school in any way possible. Close Quote

Open Quote I am angry with Douglas County. My child has fallen far behind and I feel they offer no real solutions. I reached the point that I chose to pull my child out of Pine Lane and go to better funded and better managed schools. I HATE the fact that my child was expected to write when he couldn't even read at grade level. Every time I wanted to address my child's reading ability, I was not given a direct answer. He was expected to do writing activities (but he couldn't read well)and his math was even worse. Their solution was to put him in a "low group" with LOTS of other kids. No solutions, just lots of moving around without any real support. I HATE what my child has experienced there and wish I never moved to this area. Close Quote

Open Quote Not too happy with the direction of school. Lots of "fluff" and no substance. Huge discipline problems, especially busses, etc. Not very honest administration, especially with discipline and follow through. Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
