Bromwell has fantastic teachers and support staff that have helped my children transition during difficult learning periods. Bromwell has amazing office staff that know your children and their schedules better than the parents and are an extension of your care while your kids are out of reach.

The principal is another story. Principal Hodges abused his power to shut down my voice multiple times. I helped create a petition to save the eagle which got a majority of student signatures. He then “verified” signatures by having face to face conversations with the younger grades (k-2) to decrease our majority to a minority so that he could further his agenda of a new mascot. When I said I would peacefully protest at the assembly, he threatened to have me removed by force. One hundred and sixty one student voices were silenced, heads hung, tears fell, and he was rewarded from his dictatorial tactics. Close Quote

Bromwell is not the premier top 5 elementary school it once was. Most of the problems can be attributed to the poor leadership and management skills of the current principal. There is high teacher turnover, a divided parental community, behavioral problems, and many unhappy students with dissatisfied parents. Steck, Cory, Steele are better choices for parents looking for a high quality public elementary school. It's a shame because Bromwell once was at the top of the list and the neighborhood kids deserve better that what is currently offered. It's time for DPS to rectify their mistake and hire a new principal. The one bright spot is 4th grade with the two remaining star teachers. Close Quote
