Open Quote As a Cheyenne grad,I can give first class insight into the school. What a lot of people don't understand about Cheyenne is that it is just a high school like any other. Standards are very high there and if you want to succeed you have to work at it. As another reviewer stated that the teachers are disconnected from the students, I beg to differ. Many of the teachers are very involved with their students, want to help, and are willing to help. Like any school there are those select few teachers that are not that way but yet again every school has them. The rich comment also by the same reviewer bothers me because if you really knew much about the school you would know that a majority of the student body is not rich. That is one of the many stereotypes that follow Cheyenne and is one that really needs to be put to rest. Students go get tutoring outside of school because they genuinely need it not just because they can afford it. Being in college I can honestly say that Cheyenne did prepare me for it. While it is a big change the intensity of Cheyenne courses did help me greatly to be successful in a college setting. High school is high school and no matter what way you slice it, it is a lot of work, but Cheyenne will prepare you. As a graduate of I can honestly say I in general enjoyed Cheyenne and being there. I made some excellent friends while still being challenged in my classes. Cheyenne is not the place for everybody but it is still a great school. Close Quote

Open Quote The Cheyenne Mountain school district is and has always been the exemplary district in Colorado Springs. My two daughters went all the way through the system, and received a first-class education. Academic standards are very high, but teacher involvement is also very high. My daughters are now well-educated, well-rounded, confident, logical, and articulate members of our community. The previous poster who said her kids got no help and needed tutors obviously has her own issues (including spelling). Close Quote

Open Quote The 5 star rating listed on this site is not accurate if you live in the REAL world. The teachers are NOT connected with the students and do not TEACH them. A majority of students have tutors outside of school cause their family can PAY for it and the minority of students are lost and trying to fit in or frustrated trying to figure out what they are supposed to be doing. I moved my child to another district and it has made a huge difference in our lives. Close Quote
