As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote The score that I give Fulton is NOT a reflection of the teachers - my children have always had caring teachers at Fulton that REALLY care about the students in these classrooms.

First, I feel that the teachers are stressed and over-worked. When volunteering for field trips, etc...I've counted, and my child's classroom has had 26-29 students every year since 1st or 2nd grade. How are teachers supposed to teach and follow up with these students when they have SO many kids to worry about? I've never even seen a para in any of the classrooms - maybe an extra set of hands would really help.

Also, I feel parents are often not involved in important decisions or activities/events at the school (i.e. Fulton had an end-of-the-year awards ceremony this year and my child was due to receive an award. Unfortunately the time was printed incorrectly on the paperwork that the school sent home and parents showed up 30 minutes too late - this is actually an improvement over what Fulton used to do to notify parents if their student was receiving an award - which is NOTHING). In addition, the schedule is strange - and days off don't line up with the middle school and high school in the area. I feel like the Director of Instruction, Mrs. Lliteras, doesn't listen to us.

Finally, there seems to be a high teacher turn-over - since I haven't had bad experiences with any teachers at Fulton, I think the high turnover is due to the fact that the class sizes are huge and teachers do not receive support (like a para). Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
