Open Quote It’s a below average preforming school with unprofessional leadership, with little to no services and has a crony/fringe relationship with families. Very deceptive. Close Quote

Open Quote My child has been attending New Summit for 2 years. Our experience has been wonderful. The teachers and staff have been great! I am very impressed with the lengths they go to for the students. But I am an older generation parent and I hold my child accountable for their behavior both at home and at school. I feel that is one of the keys to a child's success. Close Quote

Open Quote Speaking as a parent with children who experienced elementary and middle school both at this location, I would never leave my child to further develop their growth as an individual here past the age of prepubescence. The middle school staff is completely incapable of harboring loving or logical platforms for learning. The administration will bully the children themselves and have no qualms about talking amongst themselves to label the children, single them out and gossip in a passive aggressive manner making them feel less than. The principal Kim McClelland will not communicate with parents in times of concern and will state an appointment needs to be made and leaves emails unaddressed. Close Quote

Open Quote My daughter was allowed to fail math in7th grade and almost history. The administration took forever to get involved to help. They didn’t seem to care if she succeeded. Close Quote

Open Quote I have been very impressed with the work of the teachers to keep the students engaged and learning during the pandemic. They have provided face to face teaching most of the time, while using quarantines judiciously. Close Quote

Open Quote This school had a great first year. They made poor changes moving into the second year. They fail repeatedly to follow IEP/504's to ensure the children have the least invasive environment to learn in. They refuse to work with children that are ahead. They have also help children back from learning at the pace they should be learning at. Their math is very far behind the local public schools.

What is worse about it all, many of the middle school teachers bully the children and refuse to allow the children their civil rights. They want soldiers rather than free thinking people that will allow them to grow in independence, responsibility and self advocates. They want the children to sit down and be quiet not matter what they say or do. There is only 1 truly good middle school teacher there. Close Quote

Open Quote This is the second year my girls are attending NSCA. The first year had a few growing pains but this year we have stared off with a bang. They loved their teachers last year and they love them again this year. They feel safe at NSCA and their teachers are quick to address any issues they may have with other students. Instead of dishing out discipline they help them to navigate the difficult task of learning how to get along with others. I see their personalities developing and social skills growing in just the few months school has been in session. I especially appreciate the uniform policy. Shopping for clothes is an easy task and getting ready for school in the morning is even easier. Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
