As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote Vista Verde school has a gender discrimination policy. Many girls are very upset and deeply affected by the fact that every year they were denied the opportunity to be enrolled in science and engineering classes. It is very frustrating for girls to learn from school that “All students are equal at Vista Verde school, but some boys are more equal than others.” Close Quote

Open Quote Love this school! We have been very happy with the teachers, staff and academics at this school. Our kids are happy and we feel very lucky to be able to come to this school even though we are not in our our neighborhood school which is Turtle Rock Elementary. Close Quote

Open Quote This school was given a 100% approval rating by parents, yet there isn't any written reviews. My children have attended this school. If your child is a gifted student, and good grades come easy, than this is your school. If your child is a normal, average student who works hard to get good grades but struggles, this is NOT a school for normal kids. The teachers only give extra help to students that perform well. After all these are the students that bring the high state tests scores for the school. The teaching staff uses the attitude, if the student doesn't want to try, or doesn't ask for help, then they aren't going to help the student. The principal Dr. Mylen is not to be trusted. She will tell you one thing, and do another. She caters to the parents that write big checks, and she does not discipline students that need it. Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
