As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote My daughter attended this school. She had an IEP (Independent Education Program) because of her learning disabilities. Teachers were so helpful and helped her to be successful. She was accepted at SFSU and she is going to graduate this semester. (She never went to any community college. All the academic basics were given to my daughter so she was ready to attend the University) Close Quote

Open Quote Love this school. Been in Olympian from 1st year and now a 3rd year Junior. If you want a pretty good education in the sweetwater area Olympian is for you aha. Many kind people and many sports to play. Teachers are pretty well educated, just ask and they will be willing to help. Peace... Go Eagles! Close Quote

Open Quote I loved this school. At the beginning, moving in Chula Vista, not knowing anybody and going to a brand new high school seemed alien to me. I didn't know anybody, I didn't know this place; it just seemed like I crashed landed on mars. As time passed, I have created friends who honestly cared about their education as I did, met rigorous, hard teachers that give you full attention and want you to achieve, not an A+, but what the student can earn best with their own abilities, and a staff that encourages students throughout any sport, test, a dance performance and hardship high school never fails to give. The Habits of Mind become a burden throughout the four years, but their lesson proves to prevail; soon, the students know what the term 'Metacognition' is - To think of others thinking and thoughts; everything in the habits became second nature to our learning and helped with the foundation of learning. Throughout all my four years, there were fluctuations on my grades. In receiving a D in AP World History nearly the end of the year, my teacher encouraged me to a final project, to do my best, to put not only my knowledge into it, but also my creative and imaginative skills, and collaboration. I earned a B-. I love the teachers, I love the school and I love Olympian. Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
