As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote I'm a Student at Silverado, so more than anyone i should no how the school is.
Overall Silverado isnt a bad school, it has great programs, great teachers, pretty decent staff. The issue of the school is the students attending, there is no medium here, your either an over achiever or a total failure, and sadly the total failures make the school very bad. This are the people that have no manners and cause most of the schools unbalanced social interactions and low test scores. The school also has great sports, our football team being one of the best in the desert sky leagues and our "Lady Hawks" (Girl sport teams) being undefeated. Silverado is a great school if you know where you want to be in life and stay away from the wrong crowd, for it is only the bad influences that are an issue in the school. Close Quote

Open Quote I graduated from Silverado High School, Class of 2010. I wanted to dispell the rumors about Silverado. It is a fantastic school. There are lots of dedicated and caring teachers, a career center that helps several students get to the college of their dreams (and helps them get the scholarships they need to pay for it), and several other resources that are at the students' disposal. It has one of the highest counts of AP Classes in California. The sports programs are some of the best in the High Desert. The school has a great freshman mentoring program called Link Crew, which is run by some of the best teachers on campus. As far as discipline goes, it is very comparable to a typical high school. There are a few fights a year. The school is often given a bad reputation by the local newspaper, but most of the stories printed are: fake, heavily exaggerated, or the writer conveniently leaves out that the incident occurred near the campus, and the people involved were not students. I did not see any drug activity in my four years there, and rarely even heard of any activity going on on campus at all. Overall, this is a great school, I would not trade the four years I spent there for the world. Anyone moving/considering moving to the high desert, send your kids to this school, you will not be disappointed. Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
