Prior to the 2009-10 school year, Madera maintained a very high standard in curriculum and parent-teacher relationships. But since the changing of principals, the school has become a hostile environment for any student that Ms. Cotton does not like. There are also signs of racism with regards to the handing out of punishment to students. There is bullying with no consequence or without any teacher, principal and parent involvement. In addition, there are staff members who gossip about students records and behavior with non staff members with no control exerted over the situation by the principal Ms. Cotton. The teachers do work hard but have no support by the administration and is basically a school that is running itself without administrative oversight. Close Quote
