As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote This school has a recent increase in fights occurring at school, as well as many lockdowns because of shooter threats. Recently, students of ACHS got stabbed and robbed at the local 7-11, which goes to show how bad AC is becoming. With the increase of acceptance of students from Vallejo, the school atmosphere of students has become worse. While walking in the hallways, students give rude comments about an individual’s clothing and they analyze your outfit head to toe for many reasons. Some students are made fun for being unable to afford nicer clothes, while others judged for not dressing similarly to their peers. The students here harshly criticize people that like to be different, from clothing choices to how their work is done. I feel the only way students are happy at this school if they fit into their stereotypical AC cliques. An observation that is made by many people who aren’t from American Canyon, is that students are “stuck in their own world”, since AC is a small place. They have their own way of thinking which is different from the “real world”. Many people who grew up in American Canyon their whole lives turn out to be weird people who are stuck in their own thoughts. Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
