As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote Generally the teachers are quite dedicated. A few of them do have some social issues, however, there are enough students of color that they are transparent. People from the community may not realize how well organized and up-to-date the school actually is. For instance, there are computer labs available on each of the quads (Yale/Stanford/Harvard/California). In each quad there are counselors and support staff. A few days a week the homeroom shows video produced by the campus journalism club that is like a news show and includes interviews with students. There are a lot of clubs on campus, and students are encouraged to become involved in afterschool tutoring or other events. What impressed me most recently was the pre-testing options available, such as Pre-SAT and Pre-Fresno City College Placement. The Pre-SAT program even includes self-study units for studying for the SAT. So if you really want to get into college, they guide you to a reasonable choice. There is even Career Exploration classes or units, as well as instruction on financial aid. They are trying to improve outreach to Special Education students so that they have better options for transitioning into adulthood more gracefully. If you can put up with a bit of chuff here and there, I still say this is a pretty great deal, despite the deepening economic travails of the surrounding community. To summarize the campus is quite on the ball, the staff work at trying to improve and the atmosphere mostly feels pretty flexible and upbeat. Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
