Summary

Parkmont Elementary is a large, highly-regarded public school serving about 730 students from kindergarten through 5th grade in the high-achieving Fremont Unified district, consistently ranking among the top 10% of all elementary schools in California.

The school stands out for its remarkable and steady academic excellence, significantly outperforming state averages in English, Math, and Science year after year. What makes Parkmont particularly interesting is how it achieves these top-tier results compared to nearby schools like Vallejo Mill Elementary or J. Haley Durham Elementary, which have seen their rankings fluctuate more. Parkmont maintains strong, balanced performance across all grade levels and is exceptionally effective in supporting English Language Learner students. It also operates very efficiently, spending less per student than many neighboring schools while delivering outstanding outcomes.

Parkmont demonstrates impressive stability, maintaining its high performance through various challenges, including the pandemic recovery period. While the area is rich with excellent options like John Gomes Elementary and Niles Elementary, Parkmont offers families a reliable model of consistent, cost-effective educational excellence within a supportive and high-performing district community.

Open Quote This school depends too much on parents to teach the students. I feel like my children are attending a school with no fun at all. Here are the RULES of the principal:

1. No backpacks in trunk when you pick up the students. All backpacks have to be in the car.
2. No celebrations (e.g. give away presents or candy) for students' birthdays except you can buy books for school library.
3. No drop off lunch for students.
4. Students can only be dropped off between 8:10 A.M. and 8:20 A.M. My youngest one is attending kindergarten at 8:00 A.M. and my oldest one attends school at 8:20 A.M. My oldest one has to wait in the car with me for 20 minutes before he can go to school premises.
5. More rules will come up from the school. Close Quote
