As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote Two of my three kids have attended this school over the last seven years. Like all kids, they each learn differently. They gained strengths and successes from the culture and environment of this Charter School. The teachers tend to the kids at their level. The administration keeps the parents/guardians at "arm's length." Over time, I have come to learn, that this allows our students an opportunity to spread their wings and sample independence. There is a time and a place for the parents and it fits fine. Teachers work independently with the struggling student. It is a smaller school providing one of the finest opportunities in the city of Los Angeles! Close Quote

Open Quote They take public funds to try to run a private school. Annual Donation asked are over 3,000 a year per student. Then there is no driving or walking to school so the bus service and other needs totals to about 5,000 per family.

Terrible experience their reputation is hyped on their academic education and how lucky you are to win the lottery to get to go to a Charter school but the administration and teachers were bullies to parents and kids who are gifted, or special ed or have an opinion or a question. There is no differentiated learning that they preach and the projects are pretty well standard posters that you can find at any school in the area. 35 kids in the main subjects and teachers are overwhelmed and not experienced enough. Revolving door of teachers - music there were 3 in one year. Not much extracurricular except for dance and tiny sports but no practice field. Electives are more like study hall with nothing really covered beyond what an afternoon star class was.

Expanded to a high school and they decided not to do ap classes because their classes are so rigorous but good students were bored and in math 8th grade almost 40 out of a 100 kids did not pass or failed because the basics were abandoned.

If your child has outside activities, does not need more than a basic school with a small environment, with no frills and is an average student who would get lost elsewhere than this is a fit.

All others should seek a great education elsewhere. Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
