Open Quote I am a student teacher at El Mirage Elementary. I truly love this school and all of the staff. There are some challenges but the overall school is great! There is a great team of staff members that really care about the kiddos. I have requested to be placed here for the last year and wish I would able to stay to be employed here if I didn't have to move. Once again I love this school and if you want your student to have a great team of educators that love and care about the students as well as teach wonderfully, this school would be great for your child! Open Quote My daughter is in 8th grade now at El Mirage School and I have NOTHING GOOD to say what so ever. Parents have told that some students SELL DRUGS during lunch time and nothing was done about it. I was shocked!!!

I've noticed teachers don't really care about what students have learned through out the school year. When a student needs help, there is not enough class time for 1 on 1 help because how big the class size is. I know some kids that had poor grades in the last quarter but at the end of the school year the grades all of a sudden change form a "D" to a "B". These students are being passed along to the next grade level and not fully understanding what they should have learned the year before. I don't understand why a teacher can leave a student struggling the years to come.
I'm happy that I moved my daughter to a different school. This school is just the worst! Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
