Open Quote I have had two children who have attend LLA, and one still there. My two oldest are now a senior, and a freshman in high school. They are both well ahead of most of their peers. While my youngest is currently attending LLA in the 6th grade, and has only exceeds for AIMS scores. After fleeing the public schools in the area several years ago, we have tried several options, finally sending my older kids to private school - paying more than my house payment. Then we moved to LLA and have been at LLA for several years and we could not be happier. We like the smaller school setting as the principal and staff this year are great and we feel like part of the family. Close Quote

Open Quote Lifelong Learning Academy is a wonderful school. My child has ben here since kindergarten. Last year the adminstrator for the school was somewhat uninvolved in her school, but this year there is a very much different feel for the school with a new principal who is involved.

The school also has from what I can see highly qualified teachers. My boy loves his teacher, just like last year. As far as getting rid of the music teacher, I thought they should have done it much sooner. The school's perfomance last winter was horrid and unorganized. The new music teacher like the new principal seems to me to be much better.

My child has exceeded on the AIMS test two years now for both reading and math, I think that this is in part because of the school's way of teaching. He is very excited about the robotics program. Close Quote

Open Quote I disagree with this other parent, this school is extremely succesful. Look at the ratings on this web site for the school; "Lifelong Learning Academy ranks 74th of 1022 Arizona public elementary schools." and "Lifelong Learning Research Institute Inc Dba Lifelong Learn ranks 17th of 416 Arizona school districts." Either as a district or a school they are in the top 10%.

This year the school has a new administrator who seems very organized and very much involved. The children I have observed at this school have always appeared to me to be very happy and involved as are the parents Close Quote

Open Quote This school has no consistency the administration focuses on opening additional schools and is neglecting this one. The school has gone from a math and science school to a performing arts school this last school year and at the end of the year they let the performing arts coordinator go. The staff has rotated each of the last 4 years and the school has no focus. If you want your child to the instructed based on a computer program that the administrator things the world of and is not suited for all children then send your child here, don't think you get the same teacher again. About 1/2 of the parents from the schools 4/5 grade combo class moved their children to other schools. When parents tried to speak the administration that is on site they could never do anything as they always referred to the Administrator (principal that is never there) and for the last 2 years the school collected monies for yearbooks and they do not deliver them on time if at all. Think twice before you consider this school or the air and space academy in sahuarita or the digital academy in green valley they are all run by the same person and very poorly. Close Quote

Open Quote Lifelong Learning Academy has become a terrible school. The principle is never there, she's never available for the children or parents. She cannot be contacted by phone. The only way to talk with her is to email her and good luck if she returns it. When you finally get to speak with her she is rude, overbearing, and inconsiderate. Her staff is under qualified, she has the lunch lady act as their substitute teacher. The administration has to play principle almost daily. I have personally seen more than a handful of parents remove their children from the school, due to unresolved issues, in less than a month! Its apparent that the students education are no longer the main concern of this school. The school is ridiculously small, it shares parking lots with sonic and circle k. The school plays are embarrassing because they conduct it in the parking lot with no stands, or speakers, or lights, or seats. My father would no longer show up to plays for my son because he thought it was all a joke. This is the most unorganized place I have ever seen. When going on field trips parents have to drive, its so unorganized, I've seen parents leave their own children behind. Please do your homework before enrolling your child into this ridiculous "school." Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
