As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote Crown Charter School effectively challenges the minds of the students. It’s amazing to see a child light up with excitement when learning new concepts. The parents receive feedback on their child’s academics throughout the year to ensure that communication is kept up. As a teacher, It’s astonishing that our kindergartens and first graders excel beyond other public schools. Kindergarteners are reading a grade level ahead. First graders take an educational field trip to the zoo and then construct a diorama of an animal’s habitat. Crown Charter also teaches creative writing which is a positive challenge for the younger grades. Crown Charter conducts many family events that give a sense of community to the school. The parents at Crown Charter are so involved and very responsive to teachers and faculty. Working at Crown Charter develops teachers to think outside of the box and continually strive to become better. Crown Charter deeply cares for their students and their progress. Walking through the hallways you can always hear laughter, music, and the excitement of the students. Working for Crown Charter has been one of the best decisions I have made in my teaching career. I have always been supported and encouraged to teach above and beyond! Close Quote

Open Quote Crown Charter is one of the best schools I have ever worked for. As a new teacher you never really know what you are going to get until you are in the trenches. I can say without a doubt that the administration, fellow teachers, and parents are nothing short of amazing. The administration is extremely supportive and really listen to my thoughts/concerns and treat me like my opinions matter. The fellow teachers are AMAZING!!! We can brainstorm together and figure out solutions without anyone feeling like it’s a competition or their ideas are unimportant. Crown Charter staff actually works like a group instead of each teacher on their own, which may sound silly, but it happens more often than people think. As a staff we have meetings every morning therefore the communication between staff is outstanding. Moving from Oregon I was really nervous about the school system in Arizona but Crown Charter has exceeded my expectations and I am proud to say I teach here. I see a long and happy career here in my future! Close Quote

Open Quote Look at this schools rankings, it is falling fast and steady. They bommed the aims test in 2012. several of thier teachers are not highly qulaified. Menaing they do need to pass the AEPA test and be certified, even if they are a charter school. They have teachers who are working on fordged paper work. That includes college degrees. How can someone get a BA in teaching at a school which was only openedd for about 2 years, the degree is in education. Remember you still need a simester of intership, no way it can happen not in the educational profession. Thier are others with out certifications, and none of the construction there has had permits pulled. Yeah, keep your child away from this school. Thier enrollment rate is down this year, so people are listening. The security is terrable, a child last year was found by a person driving down El Mirage Road, about 1/2 mile from the school (A kinder. The person was not even related to the child or school and took the child back to the school and the adminstrators asked the adult to be quite about it please. Makes you wonder and go....mmmmmm, there are better schools out there. Close Quote

Open Quote My child attended Crown Charter. Parents were not allowed in the room unless an appointment was made. Parents were not even permitted to get past the main lobby - I always wondered what they were hiding. At that time, the Ast. Principal TC was in charge - she was a very cold heartless woman. I even wrote the school to complain about several incidents but no one acted like they cared. I am surprised the school is still open. Close Quote

Open Quote People do not know what goes on in that school, They lie, and cheat in there. One of the administrators, forged some document so two teachers could teach, one is still teaching there. One teacher is not even out of or has a college degree, and is teaching at the school. One teachers didn't have to take the AEPA for Arizona, because they put on her paperwork that she was working there a year earlier so she was "grandfathered" in.

The owner made one student pour a can of coke over her own head because she poured water on another student. The owner also slammed a students head down on the table during lunch, after that several parents pulled their students from the school.

Let me ask you a question, why did all but about five teachers quit, leave, not resign, or were fired? It was not because they liked the school. They were tired of haing their morals tested daily. The owner made they cry all the time, so it was no wounder when she cried because the last teacher quit and she cried, they tell me to be patient, carma will come around soon. You know its bad when they are calling teachers who have quit, to try and get them to come back to work for them, and they all said "No." Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
