As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote My child is about to graduate Kindergarten. When she started school she couldn't read and def could not write a sentence. She started the year only able to count to 18. As the year ends she is able to count to 112 and not only is she reading simple books but she is writing full stories. She is adding and Subtracting, counting by fives and tens. Not only is the education amazing, but the school performances they put out is beyond imagining. My daughter has extreme social anxiety, but She loves her teachers and is socializing with the other children, and she gets up on stage singing and dancing. Even though she has stage fright she looks forward to performing. Each and every one of those kids knows the dance steps and words to the songs. They for the most part look like they are enjoying the performance as much as we enjoy watching. It is like nothing you will ever see in a reg public elementary school. Close Quote

Open Quote This school is not living up to what it is trying to promote. The owners are just trying to get money in the school so they hire inferior staff and the whole school seems to be on Title One. If children that have been going to this school for the past few years suddenly have been put on Title one (which you usually are 1-2 yrs behind) that in itself show that the school is not teaching the children what they should be and it stems from the High, High rate of turnover in the staff. Maybe parents and prospective parents should take note and wonder why there is such a high turnover in the (qualified) teaching staff at New Horizons. (On average 3-4 teachers a year) and there are only 7 grades (k-6). Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
