Open Quote Transferred here from Har-Ber High School. I love it here. The people are nice, the teachers are nice, and the administration is very accommodating for my disability. The teachers really do care about the students. The last time I had a teacher that DIDN'T care was at Har-Ber. Test scores aren't everything. Despite the lower averages for Springdale High, I do not regret transferring at all. Close Quote

Open Quote My daughter attended 10th grade during the 2012-2013 school year. She was bullied during the whole year. She had to find different routes to her classes to avoid the kids tripping her in the hallways and the group of girls pulling her hair and taking her book bag away from her. She didn't feel safe going there and as a parent I hated that she was being bullied but nothing was being done about it. I called the 10th grade counselor and called the school board to get her released so we could enroll her in another district. They told us they only did in district transfers even after I explained she was being bullied. I was told that the principal would contact me but I never heard from him. Needless to say we took her out and enrolled her in Fayetteville high school. We could tell the difference immediately. She loves it there. Springdale just lost a straight A student and potential national merit scholar. Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
