Open Quote The complete lack of communication by the teaching staff, coupled with their apparent inability to ensure the children ride the correct bus home, cancels out how the school may look on paper. Their focus is decidedly on the numbers, rather than on the students who comprise those numbers. Close Quote

Open Quote Mr. Young the principal at Cooper is one of the best. He takes the time out of his busy schedule to talk with parents and children of all ages and is a great parent himself. Wonderful school, Wonderful Principal, and a Wonderful Teacher have been a great way to enjoy Kindergarten for our child. Close Quote

Open Quote My granddaughter has excelled in Kindergarten at Cooper. She feels safe and cared for. The atmosphere is fun and she is always excited to tell us about her day. The teacher keeps us informed almost daily on class activities and scheduled events and keeps the children interested by having a variety of fun "stuff" and daily rewards. She loves and enjoys all of her teachers and excels in all of her classes. She jumps out of bed each morning anxious to get to school. I was impressed when I walked into the school the first time and saw posters everywhere stating a zero tolerance for bullying which, in my opinion, destroys the victims confidence and spirit. About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
