As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote This school is by far the worst school imaginable in the Lake Country area. The administration is lacking, and teachers aren't held accountable. The best way I can describe Swallow Elementary School is psychologically damaging. Children are bullied by other parents as soon as they enter kindergarten. No one stops the parental bullying that goes on, so the kids pick it up and start bullying each other. Some of the moms have literally nothing better to do than sit at home and gossip all day, and fail to be productive members of society- not exactly the role model you want for your daughter! I finally switched my child to another school in the area and found out that my child was seriously underperforming, even though I was told they were "right on track" multiple times. My child finished their homework every night in seconds, making me feel like there was no reason to be concerned. Well, the school had no reason to be concerned because my child was on an IEP, making them ineligible for standardized testing. The school brags about their test scores, but they only have higher scores because they intentionally exclude children that should be allowed to test. Children on IEPs are left to fend for themselves. I'm so disgusted that this happened, and hope to warn other parents. They have a high open enrollment rate- open enrollment families are the ones that keep the school in existence. If you are a parent who wishes to open enroll your child here, be ready to be treated like a second-class citizen by a bunch of uneducated women who sit at home all day and ponder how they will torment their child's classmates- they couldn't support their families if their husbands lost their jobs tomorrow. Some of these moms treat Swallow like some privileged private school education- probably because they can’t afford to send their child to University Lake School since they are on the brink of foreclosure. Knowing what I know now, I would have never have sent my child to this school- it was definitely the worst parenting decision I have ever made. Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
