Summary

Reeves Middle School is a consistently well-regarded public school serving about 394 students in grades 6 through 8 within the highly-ranked Olympia School District.

Academically, Reeves is a solid and steady performer where students typically score above the state average in English, math, and science, with science being a particular strength. The school maintains a stable 4-star rating and invests more per student than many nearby middle schools. Within its own district, it sits in the middle of the pack, performing above Thurgood Marshall Middle School but below the higher-ranked Washington Middle School and Jefferson Middle School. Compared to schools in neighboring districts, such as those in North Thurston Public Schools, Reeves generally outperforms peers like Chinook Middle School and Nisqually Middle School, though it is notably surpassed by the exceptional Aspire Middle School.

An interesting finding is that high per-student spending does not automatically mean higher test scores, as seen when comparing Reeves to Aspire. The data suggests the school's hallmark is consistency and effective support for a diverse student body, though a dip in 7th-grade math scores has been noted as an area for attention. For families, Reeves represents a stable, well-resourced choice with a strong track record in a top-performing district.
